Job Description
This role focuses on the development and optimization of off-chain services within the Solana blockchain ecosystem. The candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance web services that prioritize speed and reliability. Key areas of work include implementing solutions for critical functions such as liquidators, arbitrage bots, and transaction history indexing. Additionally, the individual will operationalize existing off-chain infrastructure by refining processes and establishing robust monitoring and alerting strategies to ensure system stability and efficiency. The role also involves managing the upkeep of Solana RPC nodes and validators, while gaining in-depth expertise in their architecture to contribute to the protocol's future evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable off-chain web services tailored for high-speed blockchain operations, including liquidation systems and arbitrage bot integrations.
- Implement and optimize indexing solutions to efficiently manage and retrieve transaction history data across decentralized networks.
- Refine operational workflows for existing off-chain services, focusing on automation, reliability, and performance improvements.
- Establish comprehensive monitoring and alerting frameworks to proactively identify and resolve system issues in real-time.
- Oversee the maintenance and performance tuning of Solana RPC infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with validator networks.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Solana RPC and validator architecture to propose innovative enhancements and influence protocol development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align off-chain solutions with on-chain capabilities and overall project goals.
- Document technical processes, system designs, and operational strategies for clarity and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in building and maintaining distributed systems with a focus on blockchain infrastructure (e.g. Solana, Ethereum, or similar protocols).
- Strong proficiency in backend development technologies such as Python, Node.js, or Go, with expertise in RESTful API design and implementation.
- Deep understanding of Solana's consensus mechanism, RPC architecture, and validator operations to ensure compatibility and performance.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable infrastructure deployment.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog) and alerting systems to maintain system reliability and uptime.
- Ability to analyze and optimize system performance metrics, including latency, throughput, and error rates, for off-chain services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of debugging complex distributed systems and resolving critical issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with developers, operations teams, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Experience with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, smart contract interactions, or blockchain data analytics tools.
- Preferred: Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for efficient infrastructure management and deployment.
