Quantitative Researcher at Gperp

The Quantitative Researcher role at Gperp requires a deep understanding of trading mechanisms, risk management, and market microstructure, particularly in the context of gold perpetual contracts. The candidate must be adept at designing and optimizing trading systems, managing liquidity, and implementing robust risk controls.

• Proficiency in Perp DEX/CEX trading mechanisms, including order matching, liquidation, margin, funding rates, and mark price logic.
• Strong understanding of liquidity, order book depth, trading behaviors, and market microstructure.
• Familiarity with perpetual contract risk controls, including liquidation, auto-deleveraging (ADL), insurance funds, circuit breakers, and price protection.
• Preferred experience in market making, quant trading, exchange operations, derivatives trading, or risk management.
• Strong data analysis skills to identify trading risks through order book, trades, positions, funding rates, and liquidation data.

Gperp, likely a fintech or crypto-focused startup, is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to enhance its trading infrastructure for gold perpetual contracts. The employer's focus on liquidity construction, risk control systems, and trading mechanisms suggests a need for someone who can ensure platform stability and competitive edge in a volatile market. The mention of 'well-funded startup' and 'token-based profit sharing' indicates a preference for candidates who are entrepreneurial and comfortable with high-growth, high-risk environments. The emphasis on collaboration with market makers and external liquidity providers hints at a strategic push to establish Gperp as a key player in the derivatives trading space.

As an interviewer for Gperp, I would prioritize candidates who not only meet the technical requirements but also demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments. Key areas of focus would include the candidate's ability to analyze and mitigate trading risks, their experience with liquidity provision, and their understanding of gold and crypto derivatives. I would also look for evidence of collaboration with cross-functional teams, as the role requires close coordination with product, development, and operations. A strong candidate would showcase their ability to design incentive programs and optimize trading mechanisms to enhance platform activity.
