Job Description
As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for the entire testing lifecycle, ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. This includes analyzing testing requirements, designing comprehensive test cases, executing tests systematically, and documenting detailed test reports. You will also work closely with development teams to track and resolve product defects, contributing to the continuous improvement of the product. Additionally, you will need to stay updated with the latest testing methodologies and tools, and effectively manage defects using appropriate systems. The role requires flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze testing requirements to ensure alignment with project goals and user needs.
- Develop and execute test cases covering functional, non-functional, and regression testing scenarios.
- Conduct thorough test execution, including manual and automated testing, and document detailed test reports.
- Track and log product defects, collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues, and ensure timely closure of defect reports.
- Stay proficient in software testing processes, tools, and defect management systems to maintain efficiency and accuracy in testing activities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor, including participating in testing reviews and providing feedback for product enhancements.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in software testing, preferably with 2+ years in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or DevOps.
- Proficiency in using testing tools like Selenium, JIRA, or TestRail, and experience with defect tracking systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve software issues effectively.
- Ability to write clear and concise test cases and reports, with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report findings to stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript is a plus.
