The React Engineer position at Capybara Labs requires a highly skilled developer with expertise in React Native, mobile performance optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The role demands a strong focus on building a product from scratch while maintaining high standards for code quality and user experience.

• Proficiency in React Native, TypeScript/JavaScript, and mobile development (iOS/Android)
• Experience with complex interactions, animations, and performance optimization
• Strong componentization and engineering capabilities for scalable code
• Knowledge of native mobile capabilities and app release processes
• Ability to use AI tools for development efficiency

Capybara Labs, likely a tech-driven and innovative company given its name, is seeking a React Engineer to build a core product from the ground up. The emphasis on '0 to 1' development suggests a startup or new project environment where agility and high standards are critical. The mention of Web3/Crypto and overseas product development in preferred qualifications hints at a global or cutting-edge tech focus. The remote work policy and fast-paced project indicate a preference for self-motivated, adaptable candidates who thrive in dynamic settings.

As an interviewer, I would prioritize candidates who demonstrate hands-on experience with React Native in production environments, especially those who have tackled performance bottlenecks or complex UI challenges. A strong portfolio showcasing animations, gesture interactions, and optimized scrolling would stand out. I’d also assess their collaboration skills, given the need to work closely with product and design teams. Familiarity with AI tools for coding efficiency would be a plus, reflecting the company’s forward-looking approach.
