Job Description
The Product Manager for Contracts for Difference (CFD) will oversee the entire product lifecycle of our CFD trading platform, covering instruments such as stocks, indices, forex, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. This role requires deep expertise in financial derivatives and trading systems to design and optimize core functionalities while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Design & Development: Lead end-to-end management of CFD product lines including order types (market/limit/stop loss/take profit), leverage configuration, margin calculation, swap rates, spread management, and auto-rollover mechanisms. Spearhead new product launches from concept to execution, coordinating with liquidity providers (LPs) for pricing integration.
- Trading Logic & Risk Control: Optimize matching engine logic for high-frequency trading stability. Design risk management models covering liquidation protocols, negative balance protection, position limits, and circuit breakers during market volatility. Demonstrate expertise in MT4/MT5 bridge technology or proprietary trading system architectures.
- User Experience & Data Analytics: Enhance trading terminal (Web/App) interfaces to reduce order latency and improve charting tools. Analyze user behavior metrics (retention rate, rebate ratio, liquidation rate) to drive product iterations that increase customer lifetime value (LTV).
- Compliance & Collaboration: Work with legal teams to ensure adherence to regional regulations (ESMA, ASIC, or offshore frameworks). Coordinate cross-functional teams (development, QA, operations, customer support) for product releases and create comprehensive training materials.
Job Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields. 3-5 years of product management experience in financial derivatives (CFDs, forex, futures) with preference for candidates from brokerage firms, FX brokers, or crypto derivatives exchanges. Prior experience in building CFD products from scratch is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Mastery of CFD mechanics including margin trading, leverage principles, spreads, slippage, swap calculations, and long/short trading logic. Proficiency with MetaTrader platforms (MT4/MT5), cTrader, or proprietary trading systems. Strong data analysis capabilities using SQL, Python, or visualization tools (Tableau/PowerBI).
- Soft Skills: Keen market sensitivity to global macroeconomic trends affecting asset trading. Exceptional logical reasoning and risk assessment abilities for complex decision-making. Ability to translate technical financial concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Fluency in English is preferred for handling regulatory documents and international LP communications.
