Job Description
Responsible for the comprehensive management and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure to ensure seamless operations and system reliability. This includes overseeing the day-to-day functioning of hardware and software components, monitoring network equipment, servers, and other critical IT systems for performance and stability. The role requires proactive identification and resolution of technical issues, implementation of security protocols, and continuous improvement of IT processes to align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the daily operation of the company's IT system, monitor the status of hardware facilities such as servers and network equipment, and conduct routine maintenance to prevent disruptions. Maintain system logs and track performance metrics to ensure optimal functionality and high availability.
- Diagnose, analyze, and solve faults in the IT system using advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
- Ensure the security of IT systems by implementing and maintaining robust security protocols. Monitor and update anti-virus software, firewall configurations, and other security tools to protect against cyber threats and data breaches. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to proactively address potential risks.
- Regularly evaluate the performance of IT systems, identify bottlenecks, and propose and implement optimization measures to improve efficiency and scalability. Analyze system logs and metrics to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Record and document IT system configurations, fault repair processes, and other relevant information in a structured manner. Maintain comprehensive knowledge bases and ensure accurate, up-to-date records for audit trails and troubleshooting purposes.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proven experience in IT system administration, preferably with 3+ years in a similar role. Demonstrated ability to manage complex IT environments and handle technical challenges in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in server management, network infrastructure, and security protocols. Strong understanding of hardware and software systems, including operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and incident response procedures is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes effectively. Ability to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable tasks for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in using IT management tools such as monitoring software, configuration management systems, and security analytics platforms. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Preferred certifications include CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant IT security credentials (e.g., CISSP, CEH). Willingness to pursue professional development and stay updated on emerging technologies.
Additional Qualifications
Experience with disaster recovery planning and business continuity management is highly desirable. Familiarity with IT governance standards and project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) can enhance candidate suitability. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing IT teams or mentoring junior staff is an added advantage.
