Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead market risk management initiatives for the Trading Desk, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies across liquidity, volatility, and counterparty domains.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external trading partners such as OTC desks, Market Makers, Custodians, Exchanges, and Stablecoin Issuers to gather real-time market intelligence and competitive insights.
• Support the Ripple Markets team in monitoring crypto liquidity dynamics, analyzing market trends, and translating data into strategic recommendations for trading decisions.
• Develop and optimize automated workflows for risk assessment, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to trading guidelines while maintaining data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Enhance the team's analytical capabilities by integrating microstructure data into decision-making processes, enabling deeper market understanding and improved execution strategies.
• Act as a quarterback for cross-functional engineering teams, coordinating resources to deliver innovative solutions that align with the market's strategic goals.
• Oversee the systematic execution of trades, positions, and P&L metrics, ensuring adherence to risk thresholds and operational protocols.
• Perform comprehensive post-trade analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies, algorithm performance, and market conditions, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience in market risk management within financial services or cryptocurrency trading environments, with a strong track record of mitigating risks through analytical frameworks and operational controls.
• Advanced understanding of trading ecosystems, including OTC markets, market makers, custodians, and exchanges, with demonstrated ability to source and synthesize market intelligence effectively.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies, capable of processing and interpreting large datasets to inform trading strategies and risk management decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring alignment on risk parameters and strategic objectives.
• Ability to design and implement automated systems for risk assessment and reporting, with technical expertise in programming languages and data integration platforms.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex market challenges, optimize trading processes, and enhance operational efficiency through innovative solutions.
• Attention to detail and analytical rigor to monitor trade execution, track P&L performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
