Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth due diligence on accelerator applicants, analyzing operational performance, financial metrics, team dynamics, product viability, and market potential to inform investment decisions.
• Collaborate with research leads, program managers, and subject matter experts to develop robust investment theses that align with the firm's strategic focus areas and market trends.
• Oversee the entire recruitment process, including preparation of investment materials, coordination of investment committee meetings, and negotiation of team contracts to ensure smooth onboarding.
• Act as a liaison with prospective founders, providing clear communication about Outlier's investment philosophy, value proposition, and ensuring candidates understand the firm's expectations and processes.
• Identify and analyze disruptive market trends in Web3 sectors (DeFi, gaming, infrastructure, NFTs, etc.) to develop market maps and prioritize high-potential investment opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of market research initiatives, ensuring the team builds deep expertise across relevant verticals and maintains a competitive edge in the industry.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making and strategic alignment.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and market shifts, continuously refining the firm's investment criteria and strategies to capture high-impact opportunities.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive execution of recruitment and investment processes, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement systems to track candidate progress, investment pipeline status, and market research outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience in due diligence processes, preferably in venture capital or private equity, with a strong track record of evaluating startups and identifying investment opportunities.
• Advanced analytical skills to assess financial statements, market data, and operational metrics, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with founders, investors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment across all parties.
• Strong leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams, coordinate recruitment activities, and drive strategic initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Deep understanding of Web3 ecosystems, including DeFi, gaming, infrastructure, and NFTs, with the ability to evaluate technological innovation and market potential.
• Proficiency in investment research tools and methodologies, including market mapping, competitive analysis, and financial modeling, to support data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to develop and execute investment theses that justify capital allocation and deliver exceptional returns, with a focus on high-growth, high-impact startups.
• Experience in managing investment committees and presenting investment cases to stakeholders, with a strong grasp of negotiation strategies and deal structuring.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of due diligence reports and recruitment outcomes.
• Strong ethical standards and discretion to handle sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all interactions with founders and investors.

• Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, with advanced certifications such as CFA or MBA being a plus.
