Job Description
This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of game features through comprehensive testing processes. The candidate will play a critical role in the software development lifecycle by designing, implementing, and executing test plans for both new and existing game features. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential issues and ensure that all gameplay elements meet the required standards. The QA professional will also be involved in reviewing design documents and requirements to provide valuable feedback before and after implementation. This role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans for new and existing game features, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all functionality and edge cases.
- Coordinate and organize test execution activities with the entire team, including scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
- Provide qualitative feedback from a QA perspective, analyzing risks, time estimates, and potential defects in gameplay features while suggesting improvements.
- Participate in design reviews for new gameplay-related features, offering test-related insights to enhance usability, performance, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate with developers to identify, design, or enhance the testability of features, ensuring that testing processes are efficient and effective.
- Document and report test results, defects, and recommendations in a clear and structured manner to support decision-making and bug tracking.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in QA methodologies to continuously improve testing strategies and processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality goals and to provide timely updates on testing progress.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in QA testing, preferably within the gaming industry, with a strong understanding of game development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
