Our services include global collections, batch payments, foreign exchange, and corporate account services. Through APIs and local payment networks, we help cross-border enterprises, e-commerce platforms, digital entertainment platforms, and other international merchants efficiently manage fund collection, supplier/partner payments, multi-currency exchange, and capital management.
With the expansion of our Brazilian operations, we are seeking a Business Development Manager fluent in Portuguese, familiar with Brazil's business environment, and willing to deeply engage in the local market. This role will work closely with the CEO and core team to enhance local payment capabilities and business partnerships in Brazil.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development and local partnership building for StarPago in the Brazilian market.
- Accompany the CEO to visit banks, payment institutions, acquirers, PSPs, and other fintech partners across Latin America.
- Identify and advance partnerships related to local collections, payments, FX, and fund settlement in Brazil/Latin America.
- Develop merchant clients with payment needs in Brazil/Latin America, including cross-border enterprises, e-commerce platforms, gaming, and digital entertainment platforms.
- Conduct client communication, needs assessment, negotiations, and partnership maintenance in Portuguese (or Spanish).
- Deeply understand clients' fund flows, transaction volumes, payment methods, settlement cycles, and API integration requirements.
- Coordinate with internal product, tech, operations, risk, and compliance teams to drive projects from requirement confirmation to commercial pricing, contracting, and launch.
- Gather market intelligence on Brazil's payment landscape, competitors, fee structures, regulations, and local payment methods.
- Participate in selecting and managing local service providers, channel partners, and potential team members in Brazil.
- Be accountable for business outcomes including qualified leads, signed clients, partnership channels, and transaction volumes.
Job Requirements
- Portuguese or Spanish as business working language (able to independently host meetings and negotiate); Chinese as internal working language.
- Experience in payments, cross-border payments, fintech, banking, acquiring, e-wallets, or related industries.
- Basic understanding of Pay-in, Payout, FX exchange, settlement, or API payment products.
- Strong B2B business development, client needs analysis, and partnership advancement capabilities.
- Adaptable to remote work, cross-timezone collaboration, and business travel in Brazil.
- Self-driven with strong execution ability to independently source resources, solve problems, and drive implementation in early-stage business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work, study, living, or local business development experience in Brazil/Latin America.
- Familiarity with Pix, Boleto, card acquiring, and other local bank transfer systems in Brazil/Latin America.
- Existing network with Brazilian/Latin American banks, PSPs, acquirers, fintech companies, or local merchants.
- Client resources in cross-border e-commerce, gaming platforms, digital entertainment, or internet platforms.
- Experience in payment channel integration, commercial pricing, transaction fee negotiations, or key account sales.
- Proficiency in English or Spanish.
