Job Description
This role is responsible for managing the development lifecycle of a first-person shooter (FPS) game, ensuring seamless collaboration across cross-functional teams. The candidate will act as a central point of contact for project planning, execution, and delivery, maintaining alignment between creative and technical objectives. Key focus areas include process optimization, timeline management, and fostering a productive team environment to deliver high-quality game content on schedule. The position requires a deep understanding of game development workflows, from concept design to final release, with a strong emphasis on balancing artistic integrity with technical execution. The successful candidate will also be tasked with identifying and mitigating risks throughout the development cycle, ensuring the project remains on track to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the design team to plan and oversee the development of the FPS shooter, ensuring alignment with creative vision and technical feasibility. Conduct daily stand-up meetings to track progress, identify blockers, and maintain team accountability.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure development stays on schedule, proactively managing any necessary modifications to the timeline through resource reallocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Implement and refine best practices for development processes, including agile methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines, while continuously iterating to improve efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive weekly progress reports that document development milestones, highlight challenges, and propose actionable solutions, presenting these to both internal teams and external stakeholders for transparency and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with QA and support teams to establish testing protocols, prioritize bug fixes, and ensure post-launch stability, fostering a culture of iterative feedback and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, aligning it with market demands and technical constraints, and making strategic adjustments as required to keep the project aligned with business goals.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to resolve conflicts, share updates, and ensure all teams are working toward unified objectives, promoting collaboration and innovation throughout the development cycle.
  • Lead post-mortem analyses after project milestones to evaluate what worked, what didn't, and how processes can be optimized for future projects, contributing to long-term organizational growth.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality metrics, conducting regular audits to maintain consistency and excellence in game development deliverables.
  • Support team members by providing guidance, resources, and mentorship to enhance skill development and foster a high-performing work environment.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience in game development management, preferably with a focus on FPS titles, demonstrating a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
  • Strong understanding of agile and Scrum methodologies, with hands-on experience in leading sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive team productivity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana) and version control systems (e.g., Git), with the ability to track progress, manage dependencies, and document workflows effectively.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to identify process inefficiencies, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance development speed and quality outcomes.
  • Experience in coordinating with QA teams to define testing criteria, prioritize critical issues, and ensure rigorous quality checks before release.
  • Knowledge of game design principles and technical constraints, enabling informed decision-making during development planning and execution phases.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining focus on core deliverables.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges, such as scope creep, technical limitations, or team coordination issues, with creative and practical solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and market conditions, maintaining flexibility in the product roadmap while ensuring long-term strategic alignment.
