Job Description
As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining comprehensive product documentation that empowers users and developers to effectively utilize our software solutions. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is delivered through various formats, including user guides, tutorials, API specifications, and SDK documentation. You will work within an agile development environment to align documentation with evolving product features and user needs, contributing to the overall success of our development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for organizing and centralizing technical information across the organization, ensuring consistency and accessibility for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Author and maintain product documentation, including user manuals, API references, and SDK guides, ensuring clarity and usability for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop onboarding materials such as tutorials and step-by-step guides to help users and developers quickly understand and integrate with our products.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather requirements, validate technical details, and ensure documentation reflects the latest product updates.
  • Create and update API specifications using industry-standard tools and formats, such as OpenAPI or Swagger, to support integration and development workflows.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to collect, organize, and centralize technical information, maintaining a unified knowledge base.
  • Conduct user research to identify documentation gaps and improve the user experience through targeted content updates.
  • Review and revise existing documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company standards and branding guidelines.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies like sprint planning and retrospectives to ensure documentation is developed iteratively and meets project timelines.
  • Design documentation structures that are intuitive and scalable, supporting both internal teams and external customers.
  • Ensure all documentation is version-controlled, searchable, and accessible through centralized platforms like Confluence or internal portals.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of technical documentation projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, and version control systems like Git.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles and the ability to create detailed specifications for RESTful services and SDKs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced agile environments, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and the ability to create documentation that enhances user experience and adoption.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring all technical information is correctly represented in documentation.
  • Experience with documentation frameworks and tools that support automated generation, such as Swagger or API Blueprint.
  • Ability to conduct interviews or collaborate with technical teams to gather requirements and clarify complex concepts.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to align documentation with product releases and updates.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation templates that ensure consistency across all product materials.
