Job Description
The Data Lead will be responsible for developing and executing the company's data strategy while building and managing high-performing data teams. This role requires deep technical expertise in data architecture combined with strong leadership capabilities to drive data-driven decision making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Team Leadership: Develop comprehensive data strategy, architecture and team structure. Manage data development, analytics, BI, data products and infrastructure teams. Establish efficient workflows and foster data-driven culture.
- Data Platform Engineering: Design and optimize data warehouse, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data streams and metrics platforms. Implement robust data collection, processing, storage and governance frameworks with quality monitoring.
- Exchange Data Systems: Build specialized data systems for exchange operations including user accounts, deposits/withdrawals, trading (spot/contracts), order matching, margin/positions, fees/commissions, marketing assets, liquidity metrics, and risk monitoring.
- Business Intelligence: Partner with executives and cross-functional teams to develop BI dashboards, analytical models and data products. Prioritize requests and enable self-service analytics capabilities.
- Analytical Insights: Establish company-wide business analysis frameworks covering user lifecycle, channel attribution, trading behaviors and financial performance. Identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Data Governance: Implement data security, access controls, audit trails and compliance measures for sensitive financial and user information.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field
- 8+ years in data engineering/platform development with 3+ years leadership experience
- Proven experience in centralized cryptocurrency exchange operations
- Expertise in trading systems (spot, derivatives, margin), wallet systems and risk controls
- Strong technical skills in SQL, Python/Java/Scala, data warehousing and real-time processing
- Experience with Kafka, Flink, Spark, Airflow, ClickHouse and BI tools (Tableau/Looker)
- Excellent business acumen and ability to translate technical concepts
- Strong project/team management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Fluency in English for global remote collaboration
