Job Description
This role focuses on identifying and evaluating investment opportunities within the web3 ecosystem, including but not limited to founders, investors, accelerators, and other relevant stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for updating internal deal tracking systems and maintaining a comprehensive repository of project-related materials. Additionally, the position involves facilitating communication with founders throughout the entire investment process, from initial contact to final deal closure. The individual will also prepare detailed investment memos and presentations to convey insights and recommendations to the investment team. Ongoing support for portfolio companies is required, including monitoring their progress, providing strategic assistance, and participating in token generation events. The role further entails developing and implementing exit strategies for portfolio companies. Beyond these core responsibilities, the candidate will engage in thought leadership activities, such as researching and analyzing industry trends, L1 and L2 protocols, web3 social and gaming platforms, as well as existing and emerging decentralized applications (dApps). The individual will also create and distribute research reports and Twitter threads to both internal and external audiences. Finally, the role may include assisting with team operations, recruitment efforts, and other tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and capture high-quality investment opportunities within the web3 ecosystem, including founders, investors, accelerators, and other stakeholders
- Update and maintain internal deal tracking systems and project materials repository with accuracy and timeliness
- Facilitate end-to-end communication with founders from initial outreach to deal closure, ensuring seamless collaboration
- Prepare comprehensive investment memos and presentations to communicate analytical insights and strategic recommendations to the investment team
- Provide ongoing support to portfolio companies through regular check-ins, progress monitoring, and timely intervention when needed
- Monitor token generation events and assist in developing exit strategies that align with portfolio company goals
- Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, L1 and L2 protocols, web3 social and gaming platforms, and emerging dApps to inform investment decisions
- Prepare and distribute research reports and Twitter threads to internal stakeholders and external audiences for knowledge sharing
- Assist with team operations, recruitment processes, and other administrative tasks as required
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in deal sourcing within the web3 or blockchain industry
- Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate investment opportunities and conduct due diligence
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with founders and presenting findings to investment teams
- Proficiency in using deal management systems and organizing project documentation
- Ability to monitor and analyze blockchain projects, including token economics and development progress
- Knowledge of web3 technologies, protocols, and market trends with a focus on social and gaming sectors
- Experience in creating research content and disseminating insights through professional platforms
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across teams and support business operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed reports and presentations
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and handle additional responsibilities as needed
