Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal and Risk Management Specialist with solid experience in legal, operational, and regulatory risk management. This role will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating various risks that may impact the company's normal operations, including but not limited to legal, operational, outsourcing, compliance, and business continuity risks. The successful candidate will also play a key role in helping the company navigate multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements, ensuring effective prevention of operational, legal, and compliance risks in cross-border transactions and investment activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain the company's legal and operational risk management framework
- Review company contracts and integrate relevant laws and regulations to manage compliance risks related to business operations and investments
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's operational and regulatory risk control systems
- Identify and monitor risks associated with investment activities across different global jurisdictions
- Track and interpret the latest regulations from regulatory bodies such as MAS, SEC, FCA, SFC, CSRC, and Japan FSA to ensure timely compliance
- Assess risks related to equity disclosure obligations, foreign investment restrictions, and reporting requirements in different countries
- Communicate with regulators, auditors, custodian banks, brokers, and fund administrators to ensure compliance with cross-border reporting and disclosure requirements
- Evaluate and oversee risks related to outsourcing, IT systems, data security, and business continuity
- Design risk monitoring tools and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) covering operational and regulatory risks
- Submit regular risk reports to senior management highlighting emerging risks and regulatory trends in international markets
- Promote a strong risk-awareness culture by providing training to internal teams on global compliance requirements
- Supervise business functions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, investment guidelines, restrictions, and internal policies
- Review and draft agreements related to fund operations, LFMC documents, and board resolutions to ensure compliance with regulations and corporate governance requirements
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of operational risk management experience in financial institutions
- Solid understanding of regional and global regulatory requirements
- Ability to provide business-oriented compliance advice
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese
- Background in finance or related fields
- Detail-oriented with ability to work independently
- Professional certification in compliance or related fields preferred
- Legal academic background preferred
- Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, law, business administration or related fields
