Job Description

This role requires leading a globally distributed team of cross-functional engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain best practices that ensure consistent, reliable product development and timely deployment of working systems. They will be responsible for designing, implementing, and documenting comprehensive processes for product development, testing, and deployment, including automation frameworks and quality assurance protocols. Collaboration with leadership and product management teams is essential to align technical strategies with business goals, create roadmaps, and prioritize features based on market demands and technical feasibility. A key focus will be on fostering engineer growth through personalized 1:1 coaching sessions, providing actionable feedback, and creating opportunities for peer learning and career advancement. The role also involves managing engineer performance through regular evaluations, performance reviews, and mentorship programs. Additionally, the candidate will play a vital role in maintaining Zerion's culture of continuous growth, transparency, trust, and mutual support, ensuring that these values are embedded in daily operations. Finally, the individual will be responsible for identifying and hiring top-tier talent to strengthen the engineering team and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a distributed team of cross-functional engineers across different time zones and regions, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including code reviews, version control, and testing methodologies, to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Design and implement scalable, efficient development processes that streamline workflows and improve team productivity, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership and product management to define technical roadmaps, allocate resources, and prioritize features based on business impact and technical constraints.
  • Develop and execute engineer growth programs through regular 1:1 coaching, career development planning, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance skills and confidence.
  • Monitor and evaluate engineer performance using KPIs, feedback mechanisms, and performance reviews to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a culture of openness, trust, and mutual support by promoting transparency in decision-making and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Identify talent gaps and lead the recruitment process to hire skilled engineers who align with Zerion's values and technical requirements.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams with a strong track record of successful project delivery and team growth.
  • Deep technical expertise in software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of agile and DevOps methodologies, with experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and remote teams.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor engineers to enhance their technical capabilities and career progression.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure team productivity.
