Job Description
This role focuses on supporting the organization's risk and compliance initiatives across regional and local operations. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements through the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive risk and compliance programs. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day anti-money laundering (AML) compliance tasks, such as conducting AML/KYC checks, reviewing suspicious transaction alerts, and implementing corrective actions. Additionally, the position involves contributing to corporate governance frameworks and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address compliance challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Support regional and local risk management activities, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of compliance risks across all business units.
- Develop and maintain risk and compliance programs, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Oversee daily AML compliance operations, including customer due diligence processes, transaction monitoring, and incident response for suspicious activity alerts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (business, IT, product, and operations teams) and external partners (consultants, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies) to resolve compliance-related issues.
- Conduct in-depth research on emerging crypto-related regulations and provide actionable compliance guidance to senior management and relevant departments.
- Design and deliver internal training programs to enhance employee understanding of risk management principles, compliance protocols, and regulatory expectations.
- Prepare and maintain compliance documentation, audit trails, and reporting materials for internal reviews and external regulatory inspections.
- Support the implementation of compliance controls and risk mitigation strategies to ensure operational resilience and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes to assess their impact on the organization's compliance framework and recommend updates as needed.
- Act as a compliance liaison between the organization and external regulatory authorities, facilitating communication and ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related fields, preferably in financial services or fintech industries.
- Proven expertise in AML/KYC compliance frameworks, including knowledge of FATF guidelines, KYC procedures, and transaction monitoring systems.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for cryptocurrency operations, such as anti-money laundering laws, know-your-customer protocols, and reporting obligations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex compliance scenarios and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Ability to conduct thorough research on regulatory developments and translate findings into practical compliance solutions.
- Proficient in creating and delivering training materials to ensure compliance awareness across all levels of the organization.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory authorities, ensuring clarity and alignment on compliance matters.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple compliance projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of corporate governance principles and their integration with risk and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing compliance risks.
- Preferred qualifications: Certification in AML compliance (e.g., CAML, CFA), familiarity with blockchain technology and crypto regulations, and experience with compliance software tools.
